Fable Heroes – Out Now!

To celebrate the launch of Fable Heroes on Xbox Live Arcade today, the Fable Heroes team are online now and playing the game! If you happen to play Fable Heroes with a Lionhead Developer, or someone else that has played the game with a Lionhead Developer (it’s viral!), you’ll be rewarded with an exclusive Lionhead Gamerpicture!

We are also excited to announce how to unlock the in-game “Cloud” level. Some of you who have been playing the game today may have already noticed the floating Cloud in between the ‘Mistpeak’ and ‘Hobbe Caves’ levels. The number above this level represents the total cumulative score of the top 100 people in the Fable Heroes leaderboards. At the time of writing, it’s reached 123,597,229 / 1,000,000,000! So you’re all currently 10% of the way to unlocking the level, for everyone! To celebrate the unlocking of the level, we’ll also be putting the gamertags of those in the Top 100 of the leaderboards into a ‘Lionhead Hall of Fame’ on Lionhead.com to be immortalised forever!

       Then the answer is simple, mate. Don’t play the sodding game. You like Fable TLC? Go play that. It isn’t an expansion, it’s a fucking arcade game. It was made by a small team of Lionhead workers, not the whole group. They aren’t fucking up anything.

    Come on start working better games than cheap half ass games, one example this arcade game. Halo, Metal Gear, Gears of War, God of War, Mass Effect, and Assassin’s Creed put in a lot more plot and twists, game play, and things that gives both the player and the game more depth and challenges. And some would feel like they are playing a movie or even a part of the outcome. Most of the time fable games are able to find cheats and ways to avoid making bad choices by finding a way to make more money and remain good, as seen in fable 3. I’m willing to forgive making fable 2-3 because I like them both as much as fable lost chapters, but if this game is a different story. If the journey blows, there will be devils to pay from your fans. PS next time ask both players, fans and non fans opinion on what can they do to make your games better. And yes we have a lot of ideas on how to make fable series better, strong, and give the lame final fantasy games a run for their money.

    I think people need to stop treating this game like an entire game in itself. Like how Timmy did. This doesn’t compare to Gear of War, God of War, Halo, etc… Know why? Cause those are all 50-60 dollar games. This game cost just over half of a 20 dollar points card. Don’t expect as much from it. It’s an arcade game, not a full game. People need to keep in mind that they really need to factor in the price and budget of a game when trying to review it. Otherwise, you just sound silly.

    I’m sorry but I wont be buying this game, I want the original Fable series back, I don’t want some kiddy game. The Fable I know and love has gone in this game. I remember playing the first Fable game because it was amazing, I then played it again and again and again. Then I played Fable 2 and 3 and played them a couple of times after that, I didn’t play them as much as the first Fable because I’m my opinion the story wasn’t as good, the spells where basically the same the only difference was the names and the effects. But you know what made me play them over and over? the pure RPG side of it, this knock off game doesn’t show anything Lionhead Studios is capable off and until such time as they make a good Fable game I’m afraid I’m going to have play the old games over again or just sell them.

    granted it looks good as an arcade game but really is this the best lion head can come up with since fable3 almost flopped (well it did in my opinion) that was a good game but a little to short and not enough content but anyway i agree with Timmy Jordan here but not on the Fable 2 thing i believe that if you had the content of 2 and had the story of 3 with an extension on the plot to make it capturing game  then lion head would have just as much praise as seen with fable lost chapters but making cheap games like this with the content of a piece of pizza (cheese and tomato in this case) that’s not a way to bring back the fans, lion head you started on something good so please for the sake of all who play your games and the reputation of your staff MAKE A BETTER FABLE GAME PLEASE and end the fable experience on a good note, we of the Xbox and the PC community beg you

      You think this is a sequel. Therefore your opinion is invalid and I don’t consider you a fan of the series or Lionhead, since you fudged up such a basic bit of knowledge regarding Fable. You’re missing out on a great game, such a shame.

    It’s really sad how so many people here hate on this game. It’s pathetic that you expect Lionhead to ONLY pump out “proper” Fable games, and nothing else. Get a grip. These guys are creative, this game is fun, it’s great when a development team as big as this is allowed to stretch its creative legs once in a while. A big reason behind Dene, Simon and Peter leaving was because they got bogged down in JUST making Fable games. You “fans” make me sick. It’s their studio. They create what they want.

    Just thank your lucky stars that Lionhead are nothing like EA or Activision. We’d have yearly Fable releases with $20 map packs every month and a complete lack of creativity or uniqueness.

The fighting is more breathable and easier to control as seen in fable 1-3, however I just don’t want to see lion head make fable into a cheap way to make a quick buck. I’ve seen movies, such as EA Titan not only flopped at the box office, but the warner bros animation studio went bankrupt because of lack of plot, reason, graphics, and most of all characters that is more like robots than people with feelings and originality. I know Mr. Peter is working hard and at times under time budgets, just let the fans to help out as well. Assassin’s creed people asked the fans on face book on what the setting should be in for assassin’s creed 3 and the result is the upcoming assassin’s creed 3 as we know as too day. That’s all I have to say, I’m done.

        Everything you said is kinda regardless since your last statement is false. Yes Ubisoft asked the fans what setting they preferred, and the overwhelming public vote (as seen on the Facebook Poll) was Victorian London. And that’s not what they chose. 

        The main reason being, they’ve been working on ACIII for at least 3 years (they said themselves) and so that poll was pretty pointless, since they’d already chosen the setting and had put 3 years of dev time into it.

    I just wanted to say that this game is really fun.  I’ve been playing it all day and am looking forward to playing it even more tomorrow!  I have just a few questions that maybe someone can answer:

    1.  On the front page it says that if you play a game with someone from Lionhead or someone who has played with someone from Lionhead you get a gamer picture.  Is this promotion only active for launch day or will it always be active?  I didn’t play online today as my brothers and I wanted to do couch co-op but I’d still like to have the gamer picture.

    2.  I have beaten every level in both light and dark albion (boss/mini-game) but I haven’t gotten either achievement for completing all world levels?  What am I missing here?  Is there some kind of glitch?

    Thanks for making this game, Lionhad :)  I’m very much looking forward to the Journey.

    Bought it yesterday already and played through it for quite some time! Awesome fun! Thanks to the developer team for giving me some food to survive the time until The Journey is released. o/

    I have been playing Fable since the first one and I’m going to continue to, it’s easy to pick up, great multi-player game, plus, 800MSP, deal!

      not really. The characters almost look like dolls or puppets in fable 2 and 3. Graphics in the original fable are just fine.
